Today is Wednesday already, and Kim and I have to agree that this is one of the best winter vacations that we have ever been on. We just wanted to pass on to you what we like very much about Unit B1-111, and what concerns we think you might want to address with the management team at Northwest Point Resort. First of all, we love this location! It is secluded and quiet and far from the crowds. We had the beach and pool to ourselves almost everyday. When we did go downtown for excursions and groceries, we could not wait to get back to this beautiful remote Resort. The landscaping and grounds are beautiful. Manicured just enough to look nice, yet still wild enough to feel natural. It is truly a gem. The beach is perfect. Maybe not as groomed as Grace Bay - but that is entirely okay with us. A nice combination of sand bottom, coral, and weed. Perfect for swimming or snorkelling. Every day someone raked the beach for us. The cleanliness of your unit is to be commended. We tried to keep it that way everyday, to keep the wildlife (insects) unfed. It is an excellent benefit to have dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer. We also like the location, which is close to the important things. Charles and Debbie looked in on us several times to ensure that we found our way and were comfortable. They are nice people to work with. The appliances all worked fine - the blender, the coffee maker, the microwave oven, the toaster, the refrigerator, and the range. We will admit the Wifi is sub standard. It only worked for us at poolside. I realize this is an issue of the Resort, and I spoke to Charles about it. He admitted that nine out of ten complaints he receives is about this. Thanks for the recommendation to try Somewhere Restaurant . It was excellent. We enjoyed the view from the upper bar. I had the Ribs and Kim had the Flank steak. We finished a bottle of Argentinian Malbec while we watched the sun set. We also went to Da Conch Shack on Wednesday and they had live entertainment on the beach. The food was great (tried the Cracked Conch, Johnny Fries, Conch Stew, and Fish Taco) and the entertainment was also very good. We even danced! I don't know if this is good or bad, but the place was infested with children. We also went to the Thursday night weekly community Fish Fry in Lower Bight at the Children's Park. Although it is a little pricey, it is definitely worth the experience. The food is good and you get to rub shoulders with locals and other tourists.
We are glad you had a great time and enjoyed our place. Debbie keeps our place so clean and we try to include everything our guests would like including beach chairs and beach umbrella etc. We too love snorkelling and always bring our gear as we use it back home too. When we come down in March we will bring two sets and leave for guests to use. Glad you liked the restaurants and places we recommended. The WiFi is being addressed at the Resort and we hope that soon it will be a much better system. We hope you stay with us again. You are always welcome!
About the owners: Magdalena and Hugh are school Principals in Vancouver BC. They love to travel the world and on one of their trips stopped in on Turks and Caicos and just had to have a place to call home! They hope you fall in love with the island too and hope you enjoy the stay at their place. .
